We use:
 

"at" + un lugar en una comunidad , por ejemplo:

• at the cinema
• at the post office

También:

• at home

 

"in" + un lugar interior o cerrado , por ejemplo:

• in the drawer
• in the classroom
• in the city centre

También:

• in the/a car/taxi

Sin embargo:

• on the/a plane/bus/train

 

"on" + una superficie (por encima de algo) , por ejemplo:

• on the wall
• on the desk
• on the ceiling

También:

• on the/a plane/train/bus (see above)
• on the/a ship/boat
